Airline Cadets Australia, Flight School
Airline Cadets (Aust.) Pty Ltd is a reasonably new cadet pilot recruitment and placement business although the cadet program itself is a
mature business as it started back in 1998. The name is generic as we intend to place First Officers into a number of Regional Airlines.
More than ever we see a need for professionally trained pilots within the industry and in particular
the Regional Airlines. This is due largely to the global expansion and growth of the industry as a whole.
The training to MECIR is currently contracted to Airline Academy of Australia at Archerfield. We first started training students at Airline Academy of Australia in July 2008 and to date the
graduates from there have been excellent. We will continue to engage the services of a number of very credible, highly qualified and reputable
consultants who will work closely with us as part of an advisory panel and we have maintained the services of Peter Bryant as an
independent Testing Officer. We believe this ensures the standards remain high and the system fair.
Pilot Program, Background Information
This cadet training and placement concept was started in 1998 and first known as the 'Pacific Rim Aviation Cadet Pilot Training Course' and the course training was
provided by 'Phoenix flying School' at Gold Coast Airport, QLD Australia. This program was created to ensure a steady number of professionally trained First Officers graduating from
the training program met the demand for crew on turbo-prop aircraft with Milne Bay Airlines in PNG.
In late 2001 when the PNG government stopped issuing work visas to our cadets, the program ceased. We had been providing a steady supply
of First Officers to MacAir Airlines up until this time. MacAir saw the value in having the cadets as First Officers and opted to keep the program running.
It was then known as Macflite Training Pty Ltd. I Managed this business, training 14 cadets per annum. In recent years Randa McFarlane and Ian Foster split
the MacAir business and Ian suggested he wanted to continue with the program. As he owned and operated Jetcraft until last December we then became known as 'jetflite
Training', still the same program.
In the past couple of years we expanded the business and placed First Officers with 'Skippers' and also 'Brindabella'. This saw us then providing
First Officers to MacAir, Jetcraft, Skippers and Brindabella. Since this time Skippers have initiated their own cadet training business and this
was largely due to the succes of our business and the quality product we supplied them with.
As this cadet pilot training course is in its tenth year of operation we have some fabulous achievements to boast about on students who have successfully graduated after
completing the course.
We now have former students flying as Captains, First and Second officers with Qantas Mainline, Cathay Pacific, Virgin Blue, Jetstar, Qantas link, Jetcraft/Toll flying Metro
Liners and the ATR , Pelair flying Metro Liners, MacAir flying the ATR, Saab and Metro Liners, Eagle Air in New Zealand and Skippers flying the Metro liner and Conquest.
We believe the fact these former cadets have followed their dreams and achieved their goals confirms the credibility and quality of our cadet pilot training course.
Airline Cadets (Aust.) Pty Ltd commenced trading on 7th January 2008.
